In this climate, landscape is part of keeping a building cool. Trees on the west and south shade the walls, planted courtyards pull air through the house and terraces become usable rooms in the evening. We plan the landscape alongside the architecture so paving, planting, drainage and lighting are drawn together.

- The studio's indicative design fee for landscape and gardens is ₹120 per square foot. The final fee depends on the area and scope, and is confirmed in a written proposal.
Can landscape help keep a house cool?
- Yes. Trees shading west and south walls, planted courtyards and shaded terraces reduce heat reaching the house, which matters through Kanpur and Lucknow summers.
